Starry Night?
This is a painting I did in 2004. I showed this painting to someone I had never meet and they said it reminded them of Starry Night. I thought that was interesting because that is my very favorite painting! The painting was too big for the scanner so this picture is not the entire painting.

I SURRENDER!
Not even one post for August!?! I have been drawing/doodling on and off but my main problem is that I don't seem to be able to date and organize my art and THAT is preventing me from moving forward with it. I guess I just need to accept that this is just the way I am...and that's OK! Or that is what I will keep telling myself and maybe someday I will actually believe it.
The items below were done this year. I used 3 x 5 cards which are a great size given my other rule of actually finishing what I start whether I like it or not. All of them were done with marker except the one with the 3 ducks which I also used colored pencils.

Watching DVD's
This BLOG should be about what I do INSTEAD of creating! To take my mind off of things, I have been watching lots of DVD's. I was borrowing most of them from the library, but after I got hooked on The Sopranos, and most of their Sopranos DVD's didn't work right, I started renting them from Blockbuster. It is a great show that I had never seen since I didn't have HBO.

Day of the Dead ACEO Art Trading Cards
I have been creating a lot of art work lately but not doing too good at posting it on a regular basis! I have been hand cutting 140# Watercolor Paper into 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangles and making ACEO Artist Trading Cards that I plan to auction on eBay. I have been using Pencil, Marker and Colored Pencils. I just posted some Day of the Dead ones.

Yeah!
I finally got my scanner to work again so I can scan some of my old work to post even if I am still having a problem getting myself to do some new work.
Just returned a great DVD to the library yesterday. Picasso: Magic, Sex, Death (2001) This is a DVD that I would like to own someday but for now I am being good and not buying any new books, CD's, DVD's and borrowing them from the library instead.

Squirrels!
My internet service was going in and out because the squirrels had chewed the lines…again!
I still do a lot of thinking about writing/drawing/painting, but so far mostly just thinking about it. I have been doing a lot of reading. I recently finished the following books:
A Bad Beginning - A Series of Unfortunate Events - Book the First by Lemony Snicket
I really enjoyed this book.. I loved the style of the illustrations which were done by Brett Helquist.
The Alchemist: A Fable About Following Your Dream by Paulo Coelho
This was a great book which I will be reading again.

#!*%$@! Technology! Love it/hate it.
I am writing this off line since my internet service has been out and I am unable to work! I have so many continual problems with software, computers, hardware etc. that it makes me wonder if that is a sign that I should be doing something else.
I got my cable shut off a few months ago because I just couldn't afford it any more. I miss the Digitial Video Recorder, BBC America, all the Art channels and shows! Because of this I have been doing a lot of reading. I just finished the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling which I really enjoyed. I was looking for similiar books so I just read Artemis Fowl - Book One by Eoin Colfer. I enjoyed it but not as much as the Harry Potter books. Anyone have any book recommendations?

Mosaic Garden
I will start by posting some of my "art" that I did previously. I sit down with supplies and my only rule is that I finish what I start. I don't usually know exactly what I am going to do when I start. It just sort of evolves. I have not shown my work to many people so I would be curious to know what you think about it.

When I was about 2/3rds done it reminded me of an overhead view of a mosaic garden and pool so that is how I finished it. This was done with markers.
