Friends

Whoever is sitting with friends is in the midst of a flower garden,
though he may be in the fire.
Whoever sits with an enemy is in the fire,
even though he is in the midst of a garden.

CHEERS LOVE!

I did this a few months ago with a Sharpie marker on an index card.

Since I have been doing more drawings, doodles etc. and scanning more of them, I have also been playing with them using PSP - JASC Paint Shop Pro Version 6.0. (I know there are much newer versions, but I just don't feel the need to upgrade ANY of my software programs like I used to. $$$ Free at last!) I can take one scan and work with it for hours and never run out of ideas of what to do with it. I guess it occupies and soothes my ADHD/obsessive-compulsive mind. Now I just need to figure out a way to make a living doing it!

Fate

Though you guard it well, what destiny does not decree disappears.
Though you cast it aside, what fate calls yours will not depart.

Here comes the Sun…

I did this drawing 5-2006 with my *NEW* Farber-Castell set of 4 PITT artist pens I bought at Office Max for $7.29. Very nice 4 nib set! It is on an index card because I just can't and/or don't seem to create on nice or "real" art paper, canvas, etc. I guess it is a step up from when I went to see Robert Maniscalco a few years ago for an art consultation and he asked why my paintings and drawings were on newsprint!

Reality

One day it will have to be officially admitted that what we have
christened reality is an even greater illusion than the world of
dreams.

Art of acceptance…

The art of acceptance is the art of making someone who has just done you a small favor wish that he might have done you a greater one.

Imagination was given to us to compensate for what we are not;
a sense of humor was given to us to console us for what we are.

Halloween Bracelets

My sister, Diane Roman, made me these bracelets. They are Sterling Silver and she even made the Tombstones from Fimo Clay!

Starry Night?

This is a painting I did in 2004. I showed this painting to someone I had never meet and they said it reminded them of Starry Night. I thought that was interesting because that is my very favorite painting! The painting was too big for the scanner so this picture is not the entire painting.

I SURRENDER!

Not even one post for August!?! I have been drawing/doodling on and off but my main problem is that I don't seem to be able to date and organize my art and THAT is preventing me from moving forward with it. I guess I just need to accept that this is just the way I am...and that's OK! Or that is what I will keep telling myself and maybe someday I will actually believe it.

The items below were done this year. I used 3 x 5 cards which are a great size given my other rule of actually finishing what I start whether I like it or not. All of them were done with marker except the one with the 3 ducks which I also used colored pencils.

Watching DVD's

This BLOG should be about what I do INSTEAD of creating! To take my mind off of things, I have been watching lots of DVD's. I was borrowing most of them from the library, but after I got hooked on The Sopranos, and most of their Sopranos DVD's didn't work right, I started renting them from Blockbuster. It is a great show that I had never seen since I didn't have HBO.
